Boston District Scouts lease the land our campsite sits on and can be found on the outskirts of the wonderful Woodhall Spa. This campsite is a smallish site split into 4 main camping areas with wooded areas ideal for bivvying/backwoods camping and also has areas where hammock camping can be done.
There is a toilet block, a small cabin and a campfire circle.
The cabin, which has a new roof, has a large cooker, gas fridge/freezer and water heater. Lighting is powered by solar. A moveable stainless work surface and a large double sink top it off. Tables and chairs are also provided along with some pots and pans. (There is a separate charge for use of the cabin). If you book the cabin and wish to use the appliances and boiler, you will need to bring a propane (red) gas bottle.
The toilet block has been been re-roofed and has a hot water boiler. Automatic led lighting has been installed. There is also a unisex accessible toilet with ramp. If you wish to use the boiler, you will need to bring a propane (red) gas.
NOTE: if you hire the cabin and wish to use the appliances and both boilers (toilets and cabin) then you will need 2 gas bottles.
We have now got a new fridge/freezer in the cabin.
In the wooded area behind our campsite, you can find a tree with a carving of a Polish Eagle. This was reportedly carved by Polish Airman during WWII.

Close by is the wonderful village of Woodhall Spa itself (approx 1 mile) with some lovely little shops and 2 small supermarkets. The village boasts about 617 squadron (Dambusters) being based at RAF Woodhall Spa towards the end of WWII. The village fish & chip shop is highly recommended. There is a lovely outdoor swimming pool in Jubilee Park along with a play area, tennis courts and bowls; the world famous Kinema in the Woods (cinema). These are just a short walk away from the campsite.
A couple of miles down the road, is Thorpe Camp Visitor Centre which costs just £5 per adult with young people being admitted free. Please check their website for opening times as it is usually only a Sunday but in July/August, it is also open on a Wednesday.
Local residents walk their dogs through the site but most stick to the roadway and often will not come if there is someone camping. They do clean up and are usually no bother.
Just round the corner from the site is Ostlers Plantation which was originally part of RAF Woodhall. This is also an excellent walking area.
If you bring a dog, please clean up behind it.
Bookings go well each year so if you would like to book an evening, weekend or week please use the online booking system at
Here is our campsite badge which was designed by a Scout from one of Boston District’s groups. It is available for sale at £1.50 each (please note, this is an edited version so you can see it a little clearer, the actual badge is darker)
